Carl Tinsley Ratner of Trophy Club, northwest of Dallas, was sentenced to 10 years in state prison on Sept. 28 after he pleaded guilty to charges stemming from his sale of fraudulent oil and gas interests.

Ratner was one of five men indicted for their participation in Mack Diamond Energy LLC, a company in Wolfe City that raised approximately $2.6 million from defrauded investors.

Ratner pleaded guilty to securities fraud, selling unregistered securities, acting as an unregistered dealer or agent, and engaging in organized criminal activity.

Judge Stephen R. Tittle Jr. of the 196th District Court in Hunt County sentenced Ratner to 10 years for each count, with the sentences to run concurrently.
