Kenneth Paul Lawrence: Sentenced, 5 Years

Kenneth Paul Lawrence of Allen was convicted July 19 on charges of money laundering and engaging in organized criminal activity related to his role in raising money for a purported biodiesel plant in Hunt County. Lawrence was sentenced the week of July 22 to five years on the money laundering charge and to 10 years, probated, on the latter charge.

Lawrence was convicted in Collin County state District Court. Lawrence was the proposed operator of the biodiesel plant and received more than $265,000 of the money that Greenway Energy Partners LLC, the managing partner of the project, raised through the fraudulent sale of investments.
