On January 6, 2003, Jack Dwight Sheppard was sentenced to 6 years in prison and restitution, in Harris County District Court, in connection with his guilty plea to a charge of Theft Over $200,000. Mr. Sheppard operated a Ponzi Scheme, offering investors 18% return and a share of profits. Funds obtained from investors were used for personal purposes and to repay prior investors fictitious profits. The matter was investigated by the Texas Securities Board.
