Edgar Davis Hartigan: Sentenced, 5 Years

On October 12, 2000, Edgar Davis Hartigan was sentenced to five years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice after a conviction for the offense of securities fraud.

Operating on the Internet, Hartigan offered high interest investments to the public in the form of promissory notes, issued by a company he called Moneyworks.

In connection with the offering, Hartigan intentionally failed to disclose pending state money laundering charges against him, a prior conviction for bank fraud and a federal drug conspiracy conviction.

The cause number of the matter was 818976 in the 179th District Court of Harris County. Diane Holt was convicted of theft in cause number 840627 in connection with the same scheme and was sentenced to three years in prison.
