Two developments have significantly reduced fees for securities professionals in Texas. The first was House Bill 7, recently passed by the Texas Legislature, which eliminated the $200 fee imposed on each original and renewal application filed by dealer, investment adviser, agent, representative, and officer. The second was action by the Texas Securities Board at its August meeting to further reduce fees paid by these securities professionals.
