Performs advanced computer systems support work for agency IT systems and staff with minimal supervision and significant latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Work involves providing computer support to agency staff, managing end user computers and their configurations, and training staff to use systems efficiently. Duties include updating end user computers with configuration changes designed by the agency network specialist and/or programmer; training staff to use the new configurations; developing procedures and training manuals for end users as they become necessary; ensuring security controls are in place on end user computers; providing end-user support on a daily basis; setting up new computers and user accounts; managing the computer replacement schedule; and maintaining the IT inventory.  Occasional overtime and non-standard hours are possible.  Various other duties will be assigned as they become necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (License, Education, Experience):

Experience, education, and training that provide a well-developed understanding of the practices, principles, and techniques of computer operations, information systems, computer software and hardware, cybersecurity policies, and end-user support and training.  The ability to maintain a professional demeanor and the capacity to communicate in a respectful manner.  Advanced communication skills and a desire to work directly with staff in a support and training capacity.  A work or school history that demonstrates a strong work ethic, dedication, and self-motivation.  Education and experience may be substituted for one another. The ability to arrive at work each day at or before 8:00am.


Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Windows 10, and Mobile Device Management using Intune. Experience deploying computers using imaging. Experience with server back-up and restore concepts and the applicable software, such as VEEAM.  Experience with Linux.  Experience with database concepts. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or a related field.
