The duties of this job involve a diverse array of accounting and reporting related responsibilities that include the following: accounting for checks received by the agency, sorting mail that does not include check payments, maintaining the Agency’s property accounting, reviewing payment vouchers, updating payment ledgers as payments are processed, preparing monthly expense and revenue reports, satisfying agency HUB reporting requirements, calculating quarterly encumbrance amounts, and entering accounting transactions into the state accounting program.  Candidate must be willing to accept other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications (License, Education, Experience):

Graduation from an accredited college or university is preferred but not required if applicant has considerable work experience related to the duties described above.  The ability to maintain a professional demeanor that facilitates healthy and cooperative team-work and the capacity to communicate in a respectful manner.  A work or school history that demonstrates a strong work ethic, dedication, and self-motivation.  Basic skill using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and a Windows based network/file structure.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Work experience in a government related field that applies to the job description above.  Experience using USAS, knowledge of state accounting processes, knowledge of state agency reporting requirements, and knowledge of state accounting, reporting, purchasing and travel rules.  Intermediate or advanced skill using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and a Windows based network structure.
