The primary function of this position will be to perform accounting tasks related to Agency payments and expenditures.  This position will receive, process, and manage invoices and the payments related to the invoices.  In addition, this position will maintain accounting logs used for various accounting reports that are related to the payments.  Maintaining knowledge of payment and expenditure rules will be required.  Various other duties may be assigned.


Graduation from an accredited college or university is preferred but not required if applicant has considerable work experience related to the duties described above.  Excellent organizational skills that provide the applicant with the ability to properly classify, code, and manage payment information and related accounting logs.  Capable of working accurately with numerical detail.  Able to use Microsoft Excel proficiently.  The ability to maintain a professional demeanor that facilitates healthy and cooperative teamwork.  The capacity to communicate in a respectful manner.  A work or school history that demonstrates a strong work ethic, dedication, and self-motivation.


Work experience in a government related field that applies to the job description above.  Knowledge of general concepts, principles, and rules regarding Texas’ state accounting and financial operations.  Experience using CAPPS.  Advanced skill using Microsoft Excel.
