The Financial Examiner I will work in the Corpus Christi Office of the Enforcement Division of the Texas State Securities Board. The employee will investigate of suspected violations of the Texas Securities Act. The employee will analyze voluminous financial records, prepare spreadsheets that reflect the source and use of funds obtained through illegal and fraudulent investment schemes and create charts summarizing the employee’s analyses. The employee will also secure evidence, assist in preparing enforcement actions and testify as a summary or fact witness at administrative hearings and civil and criminal trials. The employee will further conduct related investigations and work as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (License, Education, Experience):
The applicant must have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in fields related to business administration, accounting, finance, or criminal justice. The applicant must also be skilled in the operation of computers and the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and communication applications. Strong interpersonal and writing skills required. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
The preferred qualifications are professional experience in law enforcement and the regulation of the securities industry or other financial services industries.
